Elena graduated in Law at the Turin University, after a one-year period at the Valencia University of Law, Spain, specializing in IP.

Work experience
Elena joined Jacobacci in 2005 after few years’ experience at Arthur Andersen Consultants, Barcelona (Spain). As a Quality Consultant, Elena's work focused on the analysis of European and International laws and directives in the field of Quality and Safety Systems and Products Certification, managing procedures for product homologation and certification.
Since joining Jacobacci, Elena has been representing and advising Italian and foreign clients on all trademarks-related matters. Elena has been attending INTA and MARQUES conferences, establishing professional relationships with IP lawyers and trademark attorneys and she is currently responsible for the relationships with the trademark agents network.

Professional focus
Elena has a broad range of experience in trademark clearance and pre-filing advice, filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks, both before the Italian and the European Trademark Office (OHIM). Over the years she matured a solid experience with handling oppositions before the OHIM, on behalf of Italian and foreign companies, and has successfully negotiated out of court settlement and coexistence agreements, always able to balance risks, costs and results, while providing practical solutions. Elena handles and coordinates the worldwide enforcement of a number of prominent trademarks, cooperating closely with local attorneys at law, and has acquired a deep knowledge of legal and practical issues relating to trademark enforcement throughout the world. She highly experienced in supporting trademarks strategy definition and has a large case load in  anti-counterfeiting activity.

Areas of expertise
Elena manages the worldwide trademark portfolio of major Italian companies operating in the field of fashion, luxury goods, energy, banking, foodstuffs, wine, and provides tailored strategic and practical advice on IP related issues to multinational corporation as well as to small and medium size Italian companies.
She regularly provides tailored strategic and practical advice to some major US and English companies on trademark issues in Italy. 
Her activity includes trademark clearance, filing and prosecution both before the Italian and the European Trademark Office (OHIM), oppositions and negotiations of settlement and coexistence agreements.
Author of various publications, Elena collaborates pro-bono with the Turin Chamber of Commerce and gives in-house presentations for clients.
