Gianluigi has a degree in Law at the University of Cagliari with a degree thesis in Industrial Law and improved his qualifications with a Master’s degree  in Intellectual Property and anti-counterfeiting and a Master’s degree in food and wine-producing law.

Work experience
Gianluigi joined  Jacobacci & Partners in 2009 after building his professional experience both in civil, administrative and criminal law cases and in Intellectual Property consultancy matters. Particularly, he collaborated with two Italian law firms getting started in his trademark counseling activity.
Gianluigi takes often part in the most important refresher courses in the IP sector and establishes stable and durable collaborations with several Italian and foreign colleagues in the IP field.

Professional skills
Gianluigi has a remarkable experience in managing IP matters and in particular in consulting about the feasibility of a protection project, granting procedures with Trademark Offices, opposition proceedings (Italian and Community oppositions), prosecution activities with foreign Trademark Offices, legal assistance to insolvency experts in transferring trademarks in the name of companies subject to insolvency procedures as well as good skills in mediating for drafting of coexistence agreements.
His transversal competencies, from food law to IP, allow him to masterly deal with all matters related to trademark protection of food products and Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication both on a European and a worldwide level.

Competencies
Gianluigi manages the IP portfolio of important Consortiums of protection for Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication of wines and Italian food products. He has also matured a remarkable professional experience in counseling activities for important associations in the food sector and depending on Confindustria. Moreover, he gained his work experience in managing IP portfolio of Italian companies in the following sectors: pottery, furniture, clothing and shoes, biotechnologies, paper industry, food, medical, bicycles, saddler and media.
He also significantly collaborated with the senior partners of the Firm for managing IP matters of some important Italian fashion designers.
His dynamic approach allows him to provide any size companies with a customized assistance by means of practical, effective and economical solutions aiming to satisfy the Client.
