Work experience
Before joining Jacobacci & Partners in 1998, Giorgio formerly worked with Labochim S.p.A. as a chemical scientist in the field of generics and then at Boehringer Mannheim Italia as a scientist in the pharmaceutical field. He was involved in research programs aimed to discover new calcium-antagonists, antiasthmatics and antitumoral drugs. He is also named as a first inventor in several patents and patent applications, especially in the cardiovascular and antiasthmatic areas. Giorgio has been working as a patent attorney in Boehringer Mannheim Italia since 1993.

Professional focus
Giorgio’s experience in the patent practice extends from drafting and prosecuting patent applications to opposition proceedings and patent litigations, preparing FTO, validity and patentability opinions and assisting his clients in designing and maintaining their patent portfolio. Giorgio has over 13 years of experience of inter partes proceedings at the European Patent Office, for both Italian and international clients. Giorgio is Technical Expert before the IP specialized section of the Court of Milan. Giorgio is the author of several oral presentations at national and foreign   seminars on Intellectual  Property  issues. Actually Giorgio is a member of the Patent Commission at the University of Milan and lectures at postgraduate courses on Intellectual Property at the same University.

Giorgio’s main areas of expertise are in the pharmaceutical chemistry, medical uses, pharmaceutical preparations, polymorphs, diagnostic methods and related devices, software applied to medicine, cosmetic methods, preparations and kits, chemical processes and plants, polymers, composite materials, metal alloys, metallurgy, rubber and plastics processing, dyes, fabrics and nonwoven treatments, heat exchanger technology, agrochemical, food technology and biotechnologies, plant extracts, plant cells and stem cells,  dietary supplements, immunology, enzymology applied to fine chemicals synthesis, diagnostic immunoassays, nanomaterials, coated implant and medical devices, waste recycling, wastewater treatment, solid waste recycling. He has also a solid experience in the field of packaging, pasteurizing and preserving foods, plants and apparatuses for packaging industry, climbing and mountaineering equipments, astronomical devices.
