He specialized in Finite Elements: structural and dynamic analysis at SDRC, Advanced Techniques in Applied Acoustics at KU Leuven, Belgium, Signal acquisition and processing, model correlation and up-dating at LMS, Belgium, computer controlled motion at the integrated course in Mechatronics – Comett program of European Commission, multi body dynamic and kinematics analysis at CDSI and MDI and Diritto Industriale, Università Cattolica, Milano, Prof. Avv. Work experience
Before joining Jacobacci & Partners in 1999, Paolo worked at CNR (National Council of Research) - ITIA with focus on experimental dynamic analysis of machine tools and anthropomorphic robots, and specialized in advanced techniques in applied acoustic & multy body dynamic before the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.
Paolo gained industry experience in Germany, Sweden and Italy at the ABB Corporate Research dynamic laboratories with focus on finite element modeling, experimental modal analysis and acoustic characterization of complex high voltage and medium voltage switchgear, train locomotors, electrical motors and transformers. He is the named inventor on a number of patents.
Paolo specialized in intellectual property law, especially patent law, in areas involving a high technical or scientific content. As a design and patent attorney Paolo has been representing and advising clients ranging from research institutions and deeply specialized local companies to multi-national corporations.
Professional focus
Paolo has an extensive practice in drafting, prosecuting and enforcing European and Italian patent applications relating to engineering subject-matter and a solid experience of handling oppositions and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, including multiparty proceedings and hearings. He has also been involved in international patent counseling, licensing and litigation in particular in Italy, USA, China, UK, Germany, Turkey and France. Paolo has counseled clients in the evaluation, protection, and transfer of IP rights, including providing technical-legal expertise in worldwide patent protection and the coordination of technical-legal strategies in global IP disputes.
