Sergio joined Jacobacci in 1991 after working for fifteen years with another prominent IP Firm in Milan. Since joining Jacobacci, Sergio has represented and advised a large number of Italian and foreign clients while acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of trademark matters.
Sergio has regularly attended INTA and ECTA conferences and has established long-lasting professional relationships with IP lawyers and trademark attorneys in many countries, creating a stable and reliable network of trademark specialists throughout the world.
Sergio has a vast experience in trademark clearance and pre-filing advice, and filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks, both before the Italian Patent & Trademark Office (IPTO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He has handled a large number of out-of-court disputes and oppositions before EUIPO and IPTO on behalf of Italian and foreign companies, and has successfully negotiated many of out-of-court settlement agreements.
He handles and coordinates the worldwide enforcement of a number of important trademarks, cooperating with local attorneys at law. Sergio has acquired a thorough knowledge of legal and practical issues relating to trademark enforcement throughout the world. Sergio also devotes a significant part of his professional time to corporate culture related to trademarks.

Sergio manages trademark portfolios of many Italian companies operating in various fields and provides strategic and practical advice on IP-related issues to multinational corporations as well as small and medium sized Italian companies. He regularly provides strategic and practical advice to major US companies on trademark issues in Italy. His activity includes trademark clearance, filing and prosecution both before IPTO and EUIPO. He has extensive experience handling oppositions before EUIPO and IPTO, on behalf of Italian and foreign companies, and has successfully negotiated out-of-court settlement and coexistence agreements in Italy and abroad.
Sergio regularly lectures for University IP courses and a number of his articles appeared in international publications.
