Work experience
Before joining Jacobacci & Partners in 1998, Giorgio worked with Labochim S.p.A. as a chemical scientist in the field of generics. He then worked at Boehringer Mannheim Italia as a scientist in the pharmaceutical field. There he was involved in research programs aimed at discovering new calcium-antagonists, antiasthmatics and antitumor drugs. He is a named inventor on several patents, especially in the cardiovascular and antiasthmatic areas. During Giorgio’s final 6 years at Boehringer Italia he worked as patent counsel.
Professional focus
Giorgio’s intellectual property experience is wide-ranging and includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, opposition proceedings, patent litigation, preparing FTO, validity and patentability opinions and assisting his clients in designing and maintaining their patent portfolios. Giorgio has over 25 years of experience in inter partes proceedings at the European Patent Office, for both Italian and international clients. Giorgio is a Technical Expert before the IP specialized section of the Court of Milan and qualified as a litigator at the Unified Patent Court (UPT). Giorgio is also the author on several presentations at national and foreign seminars on intellectual property issues. In addition Giorgio lectures for postgraduate courses on intellectual property at the University of Milan.
