Dr Jur., Luca earned his Law degree at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, defending his thesis in IP law under the supervision of Prof. Marco Saverio Spolidoro. Luca also studied at Monash University of Melbourne in Australia, focusing on IP and International Commercial Law. He also completed IDEA CINA, a course of studies organized by the Italian Trade Agency that focuses on internationalization and IP Law with an emphasis on the Chinese market.

Work experience
Prior to joining Jacobacci, Luca worked in Milan in Intellectual Property. He also worked as a visiting attorney at a prominent Washington, D.C.-based IP Law firm in 2014. 

 

Professional focus
Luca has experience in trademark clearance and pre-filing advice. His experience includes Opposition, Cancellation and Refusal Proceedings before the Italian Trademark Office and EUIPO. These activities have led Luca to successfully negotiate settlement and coexistence agreements for both Italian and international clients. His experience managing the trademark portfolios of different-sized companies has allowed Luca to successfully collaborate with foreign law firms in order to obtain and protect client’s exclusive rights. 

 

Areas of expertise
Luca currently manages a diverse array of companies operating in different fields, including foodstuffs, wines, mechanics and chemicals. For these clients, Luca provides tailored support and advice related to trademark issues. Additionally, Luca works in support of senior partners in managing the trademark portfolios of well-known companies in Italy and abroad.
