Italian Trademark Attorney, Professional Representative before the EUIPO. Attorney-at-law, Italian Bar. Miriam graduated magna cum laude in Law at University of Naples Federico II, defending her thesis in Private Comparative Law. She obtained a Degree of specialization in Civil and Commercial Law at Scuola di Notariato della Campania and a Master’s degree in Business Law at Sole24Ore in Rome. She pursued her interest for IP Law taking part to the 2016 edition of the WIPO Intellectual Property School at United Stated Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, Washington D.C.

Work experience
Miriam joined Jacobacci in 2015 after working as an attorney specialized in Civil and Commercial Law. She also gained experience in drafting national and international contracts through the collaboration with a Notary Firm. 

Professional focus
Miriam’s activity is focused on trademark clearance and pre-filing advice, filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademarks at the Italian (UIBM) and the European Trademark Office (EUIPO).  
In particular, she has acquired experience in handling oppositions, refusal and cancellation proceedings, and in anti-counterfeiting matters. She is also involved in negotiating out-of-court settlements and in drafting coexistence agreements and license, distribution and franchising contracts.
She manages trademarks matter in jurisdictions outside Europe cooperating with local lawyers. 

Areas of expertise
Miriam provides assistance in intellectual property issues through strategic and tailored advice planning projects to defend the intellectual property asset of small and medium size Italian companies and start-ups. She also works in support of Senior Partner in managing trademark portfolios of well-known Italian and foreign companies operating in the field of food, wine, energy, cosmetic and fashion.
