Work experience
Before joining Jacobacci & Partners in 2001, Pierluigi began his carreer as a Research Fellow at the Polytechnic of Turin with a focus on broadband optoelectronic telecommunications systems. Thereafter, he worked in product line management at Cisco Photonics Italy. 
As a patent and design attorney, Pierluigi represents and advises clients ranging from research institutions and specialized local companies to multi-national corporations.

Professional focus
Pierluigi’s practice includes drafting and prosecuting European and Italian patent applications and handling oppositions before the European Patent Office. He works on a broad range of subject-matter in the telecommunications, electricity, electronic and electro-mechanical fields, automotive, including software patents and Internet-related matters. He also has extensive experience filing patent applications for defense classified inventions. Pierluigi’s practice also includes worldwide protection of models and designs. He has frequently been involved in patent litigation, both in the electronic and mechanical fields, design and copyright litigation, as well as in civil and criminal proceedings before Italian Courts.

Areas of expertise
Pierluigi has particular experience in the fields of computer implemented inventions, digital image and audio processing, optoelectronics, DAC and ADC converters, semiconductor circuits and memories, electronics and telecommunications for defense and aerospace, radar signal processing, electronic security systems such as anti-intrusion and surveillance systems, domestic and industrial electrical equipment, industrial automation, automotive. In addition, Pierluigi has extensive experience with industrial models and designs and inventions in the mechanical field.
