Work experience

Rafael has a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and practices as a lawyer specialized in Trademark matters. Before joining Jacobacci in 2003, Rafael worked as a multidisciplinary lawyer specialized in areas related to contentious-administrative and criminal jurisdictions.

Professional focus

Rafael is an industrial property attorney and representative before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) who has a long experience as a lawyer specialized in IP matters, namely, in connection with prosecution of national and international trademarks and designs, as well as in judicial proceedings before the Contentious Administrative Courts of Spain. Rafael has also broad range of experience in managing anti-counterfeiting actions for the protection of trademarks and other industrial property rights before the Customs, including administrative proceedings of seizures of counterfeit goods with Customs and potential subsequent criminal proceedings derived from these actions.

Areas of expertise

Rafael is involved in the most appropriate strategy and actions for the protection of trademarks and designs in different kinds of conflict matters, including oppositions and other administrative proceedings before the national IP Offices, as well as actions against counterfeiting with the police, customs and criminal courts at national level.
