Work experience
Before joining Jacobacci & Partners in 2002, Salvatore worked at the Research & Development department of STMicroelectronics in Catania on design and analysis of digital circuits for high frequency amplifiers. There he gained valuable engineering experience in the design of ECL, CML digital standard cells, circuit simulation, and printed circuit board layout.

Professional focus
Salvatore’s practice includes drafting and prosecuting Italian and European Patent applications, notably relating to subject-matter in the electrical and electronic engineering fields, including software patents and internet-related matters. He has developed an extensive practice filing and prosecuting Italian and Community Design registrations as well as filing copyright registrations. He also drafts opinions on patentability, validity and infringement matters, mainly in the fields of microelectronics, sensor devices, interactive television systems, software related inventions and in the field of products of industrial design.
Salvatore has frequently consulted in patent litigation in Italy.

Salvatore’s core expertise is in the areas of microelectronics, semiconductor devices for mobile phones, semiconductor memories, radio communications, audio-video devices, signal encryption, computer graphics.
Salvatore also handles further engineering matters and has particular experience in the fields of sensor systems, electrical signal processing, electro-mechanical systems, computer-implemented inventions based on mathematical algorithms such as neural networks , precision instruments.
