Dr Jur. Sonia graduated summa cum laude in law at the University of Turin. During her studies, she spent an academic year at the Faculty of law of the University of Fribourg (CH). Sonia pursued her interest for IP Law taking part in the WIPO – University of Geneva 2020 Summer School on intellectual property.

Work experience
Prior to join Jacobacci in June 2021, Sonia did a postgraduate traineeship at the Economic Development Department of the City of Turin.
Professional focus
Sonia’s activity includes clearance and pre-filing advice, the study of the most suitable filing strategies to the interests of the clients and the prosecution of trademark registrations before the Italian Trademark Office (UIBM) and the European Trademark Office (EUIPO) as well as, in cooperation with Senior Partners and local attorneys, before foreign trademark offices.
Sonia takes part in settlement negotiations and draws up coexistence agreements and letters of undertaking. She drafts pleadings in the context of active and passive opposition proceedings before the UIBM and the EUIPO.
Areas of expertise
Sonia currently cooperates with Senior Counsels and Partners in managing trademark portfolios of Italian and foreign companies operating in several fields such as fashion, food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
