December 3, 2024 is a date to remember with much fondness and passion, especially for PlayStation fans, as it falls on the 30-year anniversary of its birth.

It has been 30 years since the birth of the world-famous console, which entered the homes of many kids (but also adults). The first PlayStation arrived on December 3, 1994, in Japan. The following year in Europe, the United States, and Canada. Its entry into the video game industry, dominated at the time by Nintendo and Sega, represented a revolution. Beyond technological improvements, such as support for CD-Roms and 3D graphics, what made PlayStation important was its idea of video games, to be expressed through characters and stories that were mature compared to the competition. Hence the birth of characters, which have become iconic in the gaming world, such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, but also heroes with their own darkness, such as those known in Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid.
